Ein toter Wal im Raum (A Dead Wale in the Room)are floor-to-ceiling curtains made from old home textiles. These were dyed, cut into strips and woven into new fabrics. Used home textiles bring their own history with them through their use in everyday life. The reference to the human body of fabrics and the large architectural dimension create a tension between intimacy and publicity, the private and the political.
